MORE THAN JUST A FOOTBALL CLUB

Community Amateur Sports Club

Greenways Aces are proud to hold Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) status, which is a true recognition of the work that we are doing for the community. We are a ‘Not for profit’ Club and all income is re-invested into the running of Greenways Aces.
Our Club have also been awarded Chartered Standard status which shows the efforts we have made to place every person involved with the running of the club through the necessary courses required (such as FA coaching, First Aid, Safeguarding Children) and all personnel involved have been DBS checked.

Greenways Aces have a healthy committee responsible for the day to day running of the Club. The Committee consists of a Club President, Club Chairman, Club Secretary, Club Treasurer, Welfare Officer, Media Officer, Head Coach, Head of girls growth and honorary members. The committee members come from a wide range of backgrounds, all with their own skills and specialist knowledge which ensure an excellent base for any club. Additionally, the Club also has a full Sub-Committee responsible for fund raising, arranging events, advertising, running the kitchen, arranging tours and any other business.

With over 300 players involved with the club, enjoying the current usage of the facility. This number is also sure to grow during the off season when players will attend our free open trials run by ex-professional players / UEFA B coaches.

Our philosophy is to promote health and well-being through sport for all and as such we have grown to exceed 300 members of the local community involved with our club, age ranged from 3 years old to 67 years old.

As stated above we are currently an FA Chartered Standard club supported by the Kent FA, the South East London and Kent League, the Kent Youth League, the Southern Veterans Football league, Kent girls / ladies football league and the Kent County league (which is partnered by Gillingham FC.)

We currently hold CASC status, which means we are bound by law to:

“promote amateur football (and/or other healthy amateur recreations) by providing facilities to promote education and community participation by reference to sport. In all cases, the club must exist for the public benefit of the local public”

Our teams include adults, school age boys and girls, pre-school children and children with disabilities and learning difficulties. All benefit from coaching from our UEFA and FA qualified, DBS checked coaches.

We also offer support and assistance to local volunteers who wish to get involved with the club in a non-playing capacity and have to date financed over 35 training courses producing FA qualified coaches, Child Welfare specialists and Referees.

Our club is very much a family club set up in memory of the late Jason “Ace” Gill. Our club has been running for 18 years and has in this time gone from strength to strength becoming one of the largest sports clubs in the community. All are welcome and all are supported.

Our club grows by the month due to the excellent coaching provided and our club philosophy that football should be enjoyed by all, regardless of ability, and we find ourselves taking on players who have been turned down or dropped by other clubs. Each individual’s player development is of utmost importance.

We have recently taken on the lease of our home ground at Old Southfields, Cedar Avenue, Gravesend, Kent. DA12 5JT and have plans on ground development, including 3G pitch, extension to our current building to incorporate a club house, classroom, gymnasium and function room.
